IN REVIEW: The El Nido Cove Resort

El Nido Cove Resort is located at Sitio Lamoro in Barangay PasadeƱa. It is a 20-minute ride away from the El Nido town proper.  According to the staff, the resort is owned by the Ayala Group of Companies along with the other resorts located in some of the exclusive islands in the area. El Nido Cove is the only resort occupying the whole stretch of Lamoro Beach. Thus, giving its guests a much needed privacy and stillness away from the noise of the town proper. The place is highly recommended for couples who are looking for some quiet moments alone with each other.  But, of course, you can also bring your group of friends here, but be sure to minimize the volume of your voices as a sign of respect to other guests who find relaxation in a silent atmosphere.

IN REVIEW: The El Nido Cove Resort

Here are the major positive reasons why we are overall satisfied with the resort:

  1. Guests can have a foretaste of the beautiful rock formations that awaits them as they explore the natural wonders of El Nido; because, from the resort, one can see prominently the magnificent Cadlao Island and other surrounding Islets.
  2. Another observable fact is the resort's successful preservation of its surrounding biodiversity as indicated by the buzzing sound of the bugs, the tweeting of so many kinds of birds and the overwhelming sound of geckos.
  3. The resort's staff are very courteous and helpful, even in the midst of sarcasm that some guests have against the resort. They are professional in the truest sense of the word.
  4. The rooms - be it beach front or forest - are clean and spacious. The rooms are also eco-friendly as evidently shown by its glass door and glass lining of the roof.  Hence, during daytime, there is no need to open up the bulb for light.
  5. We feel secured in the resort knowing that the coast guard, according to the staff and some locals, are frequently patrolling near the area.  In fact, there is a coast guard station some where in the town proper.
  6. The beautiful sunset view (subject of another blog post).

While we are overall satisified with the resort's services and amenities, there are also some MINOR dissatisfaction that we would like to raise:
  1. The Wi-Fi connection is terribly bad. According to the resort's manager, they are working on it. But, for the mean time, they will continue to use a "pocket" wi-fi as a source of connection.
  2. The sofa set in the resort's lobby is not properly maintained. This is evident by the dusty white appearance and odor of the sofa cloth cover and pillow
    cases.
  3. The resort's in-house restaurant has limited offerings.  The food, considering they have a chef, is very basic to taste.
