Starting the Year with a Trip to Baguio City

We've been planning to visit Baguio City as early as 2013; because we heard some stories of couples who got pregnant after having a vacation there. But due to our busy schedules, our plans remained as plans. For everyone's information, we've been trying to conceive since we got married in 2012. Anyway, our long awaited vacation finally pushed through during the 1st day of this Year. This vacation gave us so many excitements because of the following reasons: (1) it's just the two of us, (2) we have high hopes that we'll conceive right after the vacation, (3) a short break from the heavy volume of work, and, (4) our first time to see Baguio after so many years.

LAKBAYAW FESTIVAL: Manila's joyful and prayerful homage to the Holy Child Jesus

LAKBAYAW FESTIVAL, Tondo FiestaLAKBAYAW FESTIVAL is celebrated by the people of Tondo in Manila every Third Week of January in honor of the Holy Child Jesus, the Santo Niño. The term LAKBAYAW is a contraction of two tagalog words, namely: "LAKBAY" and "SAYAW." The former means JOURNEY; and, the latter, DANCE. Hence, the whole festivity is highlighted by joyful street dancing to the beat of the drums.

Though, street dancing is not alien to the people of Tondo as a way of paying homage to the Santo Niño, the previous Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Erik Santos, paved the way for the formalization of "LAKBAYAW" as the official festival term for the yearly fiesta with the official slogan, "HILING MO, ISAYAW MO KAY Santo Niño!" The slogan encourages the faithful to praise GOD using dance as medium of prayerful offering.  As it is written in the Bible:

5 exciting things to explore in PICO DE LORO, Nasugbu, Batangas

During the second quarter of 2015, we went to PICO DE LORO Beach and Country Club Resort to have some relaxation and refreshment amidst the stressful effect of the scorching summer sun. We chose this place because of its proximity to Metro Manila. Going there, we rode a Public Utility Bus (PUB) bound for Nasugbu; and only took us 3 hours to reach the location. Unlike other places, PICO DE LORO gave us a perfect example that progress is possible without compromising much the natural beauty of a certain place.
