The coming year brings so much joy and anticipation among most people in all nations. Many are focus in observing their own cultural traditions in welcoming the new year, such as preparing 12 different fruits in the table, wearing clothes with round prints, making noise to cast away evil spirits, and the likes; WHILE, some are choosing to give focus in making their own new year's resolution. But, there are also others who do not care much with those "ceremonial" stuffs. They just want to leave everything in their lives in the hands of the Almighty and ever-living GOD.
Here are some suggested GODLY principles that we can reflect on and apply into our lives in the coming new year and, hopefully, in the years to come:
1. BE GRATEFUL - In all things, whether good or bad, be grateful. The good things made you feel that you are blessed; while, the bad things allow you to learn new lessons as you go on with your life's colorful journey. Either way, there is something to be grateful about. As the scripture reminds us: "... give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus." -1Thessalonians 5:18
2. BE TRUTHFUL AND LOVING - Our human conscience dictates that we must always tell the truth; and, in telling so, it must always be in the context of love. Making this a habit will lead us to become Christ-like. As the scripture tells us: "Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ." -Ephesians 4:15
3. BE PRAYERFUL - Make it a habit to pray and communicate with GOD before making any decisions; during your heart-breaks; during your successes; during your disappointments, etc. In short, PRAY ALWAYS! But don't forget to pray for the needs of others as well; because, by doing so, you are becoming charitable. As the scripture tells us: "And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people." -Ephesians 6:18
4. TRAVEL MORE - Explore the beauty of GOD's wonderful creations, and reconnect with HIM through these. As the scripture tells us: "But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds in the sky, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish in the sea inform you. Which of all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this? In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind." -Job 12:7-10
